Registrations are Open for IRO 2026 In-Person and Online Modes
The Indian Robotics Olympiad Online mode is open only to the Innovators (7-10 years) and Techies (10-15 years) categories. Evaluations and results for the IRO online mode will not be combined with the in-person IRO results. The IRO online mode results will be announced separately.
Step 1: Confirm Eligibility and Review Requirements
Students can participate individually or in teams of two. To ensure your team meets the criteria, download the General Rules (online mode) document for detailed information on eligibility and requirements. Click here to access it.
Step 2: Register Your Team
Complete the registration form with your team's details. Click here to register.
Step 3: Purchase the Mat and Kit
If you're looking to purchase robotics kits and/or challenge mats for participating in the IRO, click here
If you already have a robotics kit, there’s no need to purchase another one. If you’d prefer to print the challenge mat yourself, click here to download the soft copy.
Step 4: Begin Preparations
Once you receive the challenge mat and the robotics kit, start preparing for the IRO. Assemble your own LEGO bricks to build the challenge objects—feel free to use other colors and shape LEGO bricks to create the challenge objects. Download the IRO missions description, Click here. The challenge mat should be placed directly on a flat surface with no surrounding walls.
Step 5: Create a Video

Step 6: Submit the Video and Score Sheet (By Sunday 21st December 2026)

Then click here to submit the Google form.
Step 7: Result and Awards (First week of January 2027)
All participants will receive a medal certificate (softcopy) based on the percentage of total points scored in their robot run video.
25% to <50% -> Bronze Medal Certificate
50% to <75% -> Silver Medal Certificate
75% and above -> Gold Medal Certificate
Soft copies of the medal certificates will be sent to the registered email ID. The results will be published on the IRO website.
